So on April 30th I won my first ebay auction. GO ME! Or so I thought. I decided I would try and save some money by buying a used Xbox 360 on EBay. Yes, this is GTA IV motivated. So I found a seller who had mostly good reviews about selling 360′s so I felt comfortable buying from him.

I received the 360 on Tuesday and it was DOA (dead on arrival). Being a techie, I know that sometimes crap like this happens, even though it was tested and was listed as 100% functional. I contact the seller who has a 30 day garauntee on the item and he has no problem in exchanging it for a working unit. I just have to send the Xbox in and he will send another one to me. I wasn’t thrilled about having to pay for shipping but whatever I just wanted a working one so I could play the damn game.

On Wednesday I send him the tracking number and UPS will pick up the package whenever they drop one off at the place I chose. On Friday (two days after providing the seller with the tracking number) I get a message from EBay saying the seller filed a dispute saying I never paid for it. WTF! I paid for it, received it and am sending part of it back because its defective. FRAUD is what it seems like. Luckily UPS hasn’t been by to pick up the package yet so I still have it.

Today I called the company but got no answer (yet). So I sent them a message saying that if they don’t send out a replacement with a tracking number or I don’t receive it by Friday I will be doing a charge back on my credit card. If they do send me a working unit I will gladly put the old one back out for UPS to pick up and ship their way. The ball is in their court. If they don’t like my offer then they can take the chargeback.
