W00t! W00t!. I just paid off my car yesterday. Not to bad. Bought the car for just over $13,000 on October 11, 2007. Paid it off yesterday. All 100% of it. I am so happy. Now, what that means is, I can get my iPhone whenever I please.
I have National Guard tomorrow. With the weather the way it is, it will be a terrible drive all the way up to Lansing. Not that I want to, but if it gets too bad outside then I am just going to have to make up the weekend. This isn’t something I want to do, but I would rather make it up then wreck my car or get hurt.
My sweet new Javascript book got shipping and is now in Ohio. I have been waiting for this book for a while. Why? Simply, I love javascript and almost everything that goes with it. AJAX, JSON, Prototype, jQuery all rocks. Trailing mouse images suck.
Brittney Spears is in the hospital again.. Go figure. How she outlasted Heath Ledger no ones will ever no.
And for the biggy!!! I am rebuilding the Kreitsoft site using CodeIgniter. It is an awesome PHP framework that I have been using lately. With it, will finally come a client invoice area that way I can track payments, services, work I do for other people. Right now, they are all sort of thrown in several text files. The blog will be custom coded (and already is), so I will be moving away from WordPress. Updates will hopefully be soon.
I think I should make a new rant section of posts for stupid things from companies. I have had an ongoing problem with HP for months (at work). I sent in a laptop with green lines running vertically down the screen. We sent several of the same laptops in with that issue and they fixed them no problem because of the warranty. NOW, they decided this one was “accidental damage” and asked if we would like them to fix it for ~$620. HA, YEAH RIGHT.. That didn’t happen. However, because I stated my case I got them to waive the $89 return unfixed fee. This was about two months ago. Today I finally got a hold of someone other than the damn machine telling me to “stay on the line” to ask where the hell is this laptop. I generally use their (HP) chat support because most written english doesn’t have an accent and since 1-20 people working for HP have an American accent (as opposed to an accent from India) its hard to talk to them on the phone. It was impossible to talk to the person I needed to via chat so I had to call them. After being on hold for 10 minutes, someone with an accent picked up the phone and proceeded to get my name and case number. After that I got put on hold another 10 minutes. *I was getting really upset by now* After waiting he comes on and tells me that someone will be contacting me in 24-48 hours regarding the case. ARE YOU FRICKEN SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!! *I was past upset at this point* So I asked about the status of the laptop and he could not tell me and that I would have to wait… The whole point of that phone number I called was so that they could tell me. Tell me you threw it in the trash, I don’t care. I just want to know what happened to it…
So after going on 2 months of awaiting the return of this laptop I have gotten nowhere in tracking down its status. Good Game HP.. YOUR SUPPORT SUCKS THE BIG ONE!
So, yesterday I got asked if I wanted to volunteer to go over to Iraq with a unit other than mine. After thinking about it (yes I thought about it), I decided not too. Why, I want to get a bit more experience outside of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training before going away. If I had more experience in the National Guard (or anything) then there would be a possibility that I would go.
With my dad leaving in February to Iraq I think that me leaving would only hurt the family more. At this time, I like the current position with my job working for the school district and doing my web development.
If I get ordered to go over there, then so be it I will go and I will be happy. I just don’t want to go if I don’t have too. There are several things with that. If they don’t get enough people to volunteer then they could start sending people from other units (like me) with the unit that just deployed 2 days ago. This would not be good because I would be leaving within the next few weeks instead of having months of knowing.
